Privacy Policy

Summary
fstop is a third-party client for Plex Media Server. The app does not have its own backend. It sends data only to (a) Plex's authentication servers when you sign in, and (b) the Plex Media Servers you choose to connect to. We — the developer of fstop — do not receive, store, or see any of your data.
Who we are
fstop is an independent app. Contact: support@mld.gg.
Information the app handles
Plex account credentials. When you sign in, the app uses Plex's official OAuth flow. Your Plex username and password are entered on Plex's site and are never seen by this app. The app receives only an authentication token, which is stored in the Keychain on your device and used to talk to your Plex Media Server(s).
Photo library content. The app fetches photos, thumbnails, EXIF metadata, ratings, and tags from the Plex Media Server(s) you connect to. This content travels directly between your device and your server. It is not routed through, copied to, or analysed by the developer.
Local preferences. UI settings (e.g. whether EXIF placards are shown, whether month headers are shown) are stored locally on your device via UserDefaults. They never leave your device.
Device identifiers. The app sends a per-install client identifier and a device name string (e.g. “iPhone”, “Apple TV”) to your Plex Media Server as part of the standard Plex client protocol, so the server can recognise the device in its “Authorised Devices” list. This information goes only to your own server.
Information we do not collect
- We do not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
- We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone, or camera input.
- We do not sell, share, or monetise your data — there is nothing to sell, because we never receive it.
Permissions the app requests
- Local Network (iOS): required to discover and connect to Plex Media Servers on your local network. Used only for that purpose.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Because the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on our side. To revoke the app's access to your Plex account, sign out from within the app (which discards the token from your Keychain), or remove the device from plex.tv → Account → Authorised Devices. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
